Personal Records for 2025
PR is an acronym for "Personal Record" that you hear a lot at a cross country meet. This is a mark that every runner gets to compete for every race, because when you are talking about PRs, you are racing yourself. On paper, we had 112 team PRs registered on MileSplit in 2025. If you adjust that number to account for first-year runners, we had an Adjusted PR total of 94.
If you are wondering why there is an "adjusted PR" number, we had to take in account that the first race run by first-year runners would count as a MileSplit PR regardless of what time was run. This is a mark that was already set for 2+ year runners in previous season(s). While total PRs typically favors runners in their first few seasons, we handicapped the first-year runners total PRs by 1 to be a more accurate number when compared to veteran runners as 2+ year runners would not recognize a PR on their first race of the season.
Easton Chaffin (pictured above) led the boy's team this year with 6 PRs and an honorable mention to Jose Romero and Miguel Valdez for getting 5 PRs.
Bella McClenathen (pictured below) and Abilene Sanchez led the girl's team with 6 total PRs and an honorable mention to Emma Dobson, Alexa Rodriguez, and Vanessa Valdez for registering 5 PRs this season.
