Familiar face seen in Green Street Santa Sprint

GAINESVILLE, GA - The annual Christmas on Green Street Parade kicked off this year with something new.  Hundreds of runners (and walkers) dressed in green Santa outfits raced down Green Street to start the annual Christmas Parade.  It was deceptively chilly on Sunday afternoon as the temperatures dropped quickly right before the parade was to start.  But that did not stop over 400 participants adorned in their green Santa outfits from taking part in the first ever Green Street Santa Sprint!

Chestatee's Emma Dobson appeared on the start line and meant all business as she sprinted down Green Street to cross the finish line as the first female athlete in 5:31 while trying to keep her green Santa coat on.  Great job Emma!  Afterwards a number of Hall County Schools were represented with Marching Bands and other clubs.

If you participated in a holiday race, please let us know at TalonSplit@gmail.com.

Emma Dobson was the first female across the finish at 5:31 and fifth overall "Santa".
